Focus Group Meetings were held for the preparation of INSET Programs within the scope of BEGEP Project.
Focus group meetings were held in order to identify the in-service training programs needed in the field of inclusion/mainstream education practices within the scope of the “Development of Inclusive Education Project (BEGEP)” which was put into practice in order to contribute to the establishment of an innovative and quality-oriented, sustainable education system by supporting the development of teachers, school managers and other actors involved in inclusion/mainstreaming practices by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
The first of the focus group meetings with the participation of 137 teachers working in special education and guidance fields and different branches in 12 pilot provinces of our project was held in Istanbul on February 17, 2020, and in Ankara on February 19 and 20, 2020. Within the scope of the meetings, the problems and solution suggestions in inclusion/mainstreaming practices, professional development needs and in-service training suggestions of the teachers were discussed throughout the day
